I'm on Top of the World

This was my final project for art this year. We were given many different music lyrics and I chose this lyric. "Been dreaming of this since a child - I'm on top of the world." - Imagine Dragons
The quote spoke to me as I've been dreaming about high school graduation and going off to college for a long time and I'm just happy that it's finally here. I also remembered other lyrics in the song speak about climbing mountains so that is why the finished product is the way it is.

More Pastel Practice

This was a monochromatic assignment in which I used chalk pastels and some prisma colors. I chose to use blues, purples, and some greens to achieve this flower.

If you're into watching trends, you've most likely seen all of the rave about galaxy print on shoes, sweaters, etc. Stepping away from zentangle a little, my friend taught me how to do a simple galaxy painting. First, take a sponge and lay down a black background. Then, add your favorite colors on top with a sponge to make planets, comets, or any space inspired design you want. Then, if desired, take a fan paint brush and dip it in watered down white paint and run the brush across your fingers on top of the painting to give the white dots or starry night effect. Try it out on canvas, shoes, clothes, or anywhere your heart desires! My art class this year did a whole wall in our class room with this galaxy design!

Graduation Weekend

In an effort to help finish the senior t-shirt this year, I offered my creativity and zentangle abilities to make the back of the shirt with the graduates' names. I'm so happy about how well the shirts turned out. A big shout out to custom ink!
