Mountain Side

A popular Christmas gift this year is a Zentangle/Zen coloring book. Here's my first attempt at coloring a design. This design is from the book 'Color Me Calm.'

Galaxy Mural

Even though we graduated from high school last year, we wanted to return to school this summer and finish the galaxy mural that we started during senior year. If you see this, thank you Ms. T for being such a great art teacher and letting us decorate your room! :)

Aqua Zentangle Painting

The aqua, white, and black is the original zentangle I did by painting with acrylic paint. I added a "negative" filter on top of the picture and got the red, black, and white picture.

I drew this pattern today. The bottom right picture (black on white) is the original. The other 3 photos I edited. I played around with the filters on my phone and made the design white on colored backgrounds.

Collegiate Art

Throwback to this time last year when graduating from high school and choosing colleges was all of the talk. I made collegiate art for my friends who were going away. I first used the respective colors for each university and painted the background with water colors. I let these dry and then used sharpie to draw designs on top. Quick and easy art - great for decorating a dorm room!

Zentangle Fashion

As I am majoring in textiles, I like to look at current fashion trends. I've seen many zentangle inspired pieces in major fast fashion retailers like Target, H&M, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, etc.

This piece looks a little more contemporary than what I usually design due to the block structure. I started by drawing the various flowers on random spots of the paper. Then I proceeded to color in the squares for the background by using a ruler (this took the longest time!)

Happy Mother's Day

Here's my Mother's Day card that I constructed using some Zentangle techniques. Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother's Day!
